Narrative
Baptized at St Paul's Church, Newburyport; buried at the Granary Burial
Ground, Boston. A student at Leicester Academy; took up active business
instead of collegiate studies. At Boston after marriage, then 1807 on death
of grandfather Hon Saml BLOGETT went to Manchester, N. H, with interest in the
Blodget Estate and Canals. He built a manufacturing enterprise there and was
committee chairman 1810 to change the town's name from Amoskeag to Manchester.
A cheerful man, courteous manner, sanguine temperament, great energy.
