Narrative

He moved to Baltimore about 1800; in business on Rowley's Wharf; in 1817
occupying the store of Charles & Peter WIRGAMON on Spear's Wharf. His mother,
and sisters Mary and Eliza lived with him in Baltimore until their deaths. He
married there and volunteered to serve during the War of 1812 & 1814; and was
stationed at Fort McHenry. In 1818 embarked in his own vessel to St Stephens,
following his brother Joseph to Mobile, Ala. His store was burned down and he
then became City/County Treasurer. He was among Mobile's earliest settlers.
