Note his name spelt Eliphelet on Page 199. "He was early sent to the Academy
at Montgomery, where he received a good education, and studied law; located
at Milford, Pa, and after 2 or 3 years practice he concluded the practice of
law involved too much dishonesty, and finally quit the profession, married and
lived at Chester, N. Y, then settled at Lyonstown, built a small Academy where
he taught, and as he was an excellent teacher his school was always supplied
with students."
