Narrative
Died unmarried. Went out in service 1746 towards a garrison two and a half
miles out from Rumford, but were shot upon by Indians and he and Alexander
ROBERTS taken prisoner. Escaped with a friendly Indian from detention in
Canada after a year, but died as a result of an accident, or of being killed,
before arriving home. The Indian arrived dressed in his clothes.
