Narrative
"He was a caulker and graver by trade, and was an industrious man through
life." He stated that he was taken prisoner in 1815, from a Privateer, and
carried into Halifax, and kept as a hostage; whilst there a Post Captain of
the British Navy, a William STICKNEY, showed him great kindness on account of
his name. He was living in Salem, 1868.
