Narrative
Baptized in First Church, Newbury. Styled John 5th of Newbury, but later Jr
of Newburyport. On the Roll of the Third Co of Foot in Newbury 1757; tradition
says was wounded in the Battle of Bunker Hill and was then lame. Sold land in
Newbury 1765/6 & 1772; sold the homestead descending to him from Amos [2]
a first settler in Newbury, after 109 years in the family; removed to Epping
about 1772, bought a farm. Adm on his estate granted to his wife and Josiah
FOGG. Names: Joseph COFFIN; John TITCOMB; Daniel FARNHAM; Michael PIKE.
