Narrative
In service 1757 to reinforce Fort William Henry; 1760 at Louisburg; 1775 at
the Battle of Lexington; 1777 at the Battle of Princeton; 1778 at Winter Hill
to guard Burgoyne's captured army. Was gifted his father's saw mill; built
first a scythe mill, then a grist mill. He was a Federalist. "A man of bravery
fortitude and resolution, of a generous temper, kind to family & friends,
honest & upright in dealings. A stout, healthy man, had a large, high
forehead, brown hair, blue eyes. He died in peace in his own bed.
