Narrative
Enlisted from Newbury 1760 and served at Louisburg, whose fortifications he
assisted in destroying. He was taxed in Rowley 1761, but after receiving his
portion of his father's estate moved to Maugerville, Nova Scotia, on the St
John's River where he was an original proprietor, later called Sheffield,
Sunbury Co, N. B. The first house he erected was destroyed by fire with
nearly all their possessions. He acquired a good property, and died as a
result of a fall from his horse.
