Narrative
Born in Rowley, First Parish. Died unmarried, and was buried in Byfield,
Cemetery. He was a tall and well proportioned man, with dark brown hair and
light blue eyes. Took over his father's grist-mill and saw-mill, 1815, and
milled timber from Rowley, for ship-building, at the Essex market. By industry
and frugality he acquired a handsome property; a man of good judgement, a
great lover of history and geography. An original member of the Moral Society
of Rowley 1814, the Mass Missionary Society, and the Merrimack Bible Society.
