He was born at Shawangunk, Orange Co, N. Y, and went with his parents to
Borreyville, from there to Philadelphia, Pa, where he tended as a clerk in a
retail, and afterwards in a wholesale, store. He returned to N. Y. State,
married, and opened a store in Wurtsboro, Sullivan Co, N. Y. Page 198 of the
"Stickney Family" book gives their marriage date as Mar 20; Page 302 as Mar
30.
