Narrative
He entered Waterville College, Me, 1846; stayed 3 years; entered the Senior
Class in Columbian College, Washington, DC, where he graduated. A lawyer, he
was admitted to the Bar in St Louis, Mo, 1850. He held many local offices,
including Secretary and Director of the Deaf and Dumb College at Washington,
DC, since its organization. He returned in the fall of 1867, from an extended
tour of Egypt, the Holy Land, Greece, etc, with his family, and was living,
1868, with his father-in-law, at Kendall Green, near Washington, DC.
