Narrative
He was a grain merchant at, and a resident of, Cambridgeport; for several
years a commission merchant in Boston, doing business at Nos 8 and 9 Chatham
Row, in partnership with his brother, Isaac. He purchased a large tract of
land and, prior to 1856, moved with his family to the farm at Woodhull, Henry
Co, Ill, where he was accidentally killed.
