Narrative

Styled Deacon. Admitted member of Billerica Church 1768. Out as Sergeant with
Minute Men, in battles of Lexington and Bunker Hill, 1775; was Lieut from
Mass., to Rhode Island, 1778. Three months after the decease of his father,
who was Deacon, 1781, was selected as Deacon of Billerica Church, but refused.
In 1784 he was dismissed to Tomlinson (later Grafton) in Vermont, and there
Became its first Deacon. He represented Grafton in General Court two years.
Received a good estate from his father, and became a substantial farmer.
