Narrative

He was baptized at First Presbyterian Church, Newburyport; married in London,
England; died in the Parish of St Mary Magdalen, Bermondsey, Surrey, England.
He early engaged in navigation, from Newburyport 1783 to Alexandria, Va, 1784
in the "Washington"; Liverpool to Portland 1791 in the "Minerva"; commander
of the ship "Hope" abt 1803 in the Granada trade. He left a Will giving
property in USA and London to child Betsey Sarah, if she deceased, to his
mother Sarah COLMAN, brothers/sisters, but settlement never effected.
