He and his wife became, 1840, life members of the Maine Missionary Society.
His obituary, by C. G. M, in the "Congregationalist and Boston Recorder," Mar
26 1868: "By the death of Mr STICKNEY, the community in which he lived has
been bereft of one of its most esteemed citizens, and the Congregational
Church, a prominent and dearly loved member. ... etc"
