Narrative

He went from Concord, N. H, to Fryeburg, Me, where he married, then lived in
Concord, Conway, N. H, till after the births of his two eldest children, then
went to Brownfield, Me, where he commenced keeping a public house as early as
1809, which he continued as long as he lived. His tavern was on the road from
Portland, Me, to Lancaster, N. H, through the notch of the White Mountains.
He was Major of the 5th Reg, 2d Brigade, County of York, 1800, 1802; of the
5th Reg, 1st Brigade, 1803.
