Narrative
He died, unmarried, in the winter or spring of 1862, on the White River. He
entered Union College, Schenectady, N. Y, Sep 9 1836 and studied Law,
graduating 1839; then spent a year with Judge SUFFRAN at Rockland Co, N. Y.
With failing health he taught school 2 years at Vicksburg, Miss, and then
several years at Shreveport, La. Returned to Chicago, Ill, and with brother
Chauncey bought a lumber business in Michigan and yard in Chicago. He sold and
went to Perry Clifton, Arkansas, and there bought a salt-works.
