Narrative
He went from Boston to St Louis, Mo, in Mar 1837; kept the National Hotel 4
years; opened the Planter's House Apr 1841, was its proprietor till Apr 1864;
then returned to private life with a comfortable competency. Was Director of
Missouri Pacific Railroad about 10 years; still on the board, 1868. Was a
Director of St Louis National Bank, formerly the Bank of St Louis, 10 - 12
years; also in the St Louis Gas Light Co for similar time. Living, 1868, in
St Louis, Mo.
