Narrative
Baptized at Byfield Church; died unmarried. Learned the printing trade from
Mr BLUNT of Newburyport; purchased with Ephraim W ALLEN the "Newburyport
Herald" but later sold his share to Mr BARNARD. He then became a well known
supercargo and shipmaster; owner and captain of ship "Echo". An original
member of the Marrimack Humane Society, 1803. His Will dated Jul 17 1818;
proved Sep 1821. Samuel NEWMAN of Newbury appointed Adm of his estate Sep 25
1821, in place of his deceased brother David who was nominated in the Will.
