Narrative
Styled Capt. He learned the trade of silversmith from his brother Jonathan.
Then entered the Navy; was 1st Lieut of Marines on Ship of War Merrimack,
built 1798. Later became captain in the merchant service. He was a member of
the Newburyport Masonic Lodge and a member of the Essex Agricultural Society.
Sells land on Long Hill, Rowley to Jeremy CHAPLIN Oct 9 1801. Inherits land
and house in Newburyport from his father-in-law May 20 1808; also buys from
Stephen HOLLAND land and house in Newbury when he is styled Merchant.
