Narrative
Deacon William FISK appointed guardian Jun 4 1759. Bought land on Long Hill
from Mary DUTY, widow of Samuel DUTY, and grandson John DUTY; sold it to
Moses SMITH. Marched when of Rowley on the first notice of the Battle of
Lexington 1775. Was born and died in the house built by his grandfather
Benjamin STICKNEY [23] in 1700. Died of Palsy in his 93rd year, the oldest
person in Rowley. He was of medium stature, with black hair, blue eyes, and
well proportioned features, amiable temper. For many years led the choir.
