Narrative
He was styled Major when married to Ruth. He attended Dummer Academy, and
studied with his uncle Alfred PIKE, Newburyport; kept school at Hampton, N.
H, at age 18 and taught for the next 23 years. Formed a Rifle Co the first in
Essex, was Capt; was Major of 1st Reg, 2d Brigade, West Newbury, 1827/8.
Represented Georgetown in General Court, 1843. Led the choir many years as
his father/grandfather had done. He lived, 1868, on the old homestead, in the
house built by his ancestor, Benjamin STICKNEY [23], in 1700.
