Left Bradford Academy 1818; entered Salem Latin School; entered Freshman Class
Harvard University 1820; graduated Cambridge 1824. Entered Judge CUMMINS Law
Office; took up debating, became politically motivated. Admitted to Bar 1827;
became Postmaster Lynn, 1829/40; offered/declined US District Attorneyship,
Boston; 1839/40 served 2 years in Mass House of Representatives. Postmaster,
Lynn again 1853/8. Was a Democrat; wrote columns "Lynn Mirror" and "Essex
Democrat". Died after a weeks illness at his home, Forest Place, Lynn.
