Narrative
In his early manhood he was a mechanic and school teacher, subsequently a
magistrate, doing considerable business, and for about 25 years a Clergyman
of the Universalist denomination, attending largely, however, to secular
pursuits. He lived at Presque Isle, Me, where he was the proprietor and
editor of an ably conducted newspaper called "The Loyal Sunrise."
