He married Mary at Exeter, when he was of Epping. Educated at Phillips Exeter
Academy 1849/50. Read Law at Stickney [802] & Tuck, Exeter; admitted to the
Bar 1854; practiced in Rockingham Co, N. H; Sioux City, Iowa 1856; Elk point,
Union Co, Dakota Apr 10 1860; a member of House of Representatives,
Legislative Assembly there 1864; elected to the Council 1865; President of
Council Aug 1866. Received appointments from the US President 1866/71.
